I am a fan of a particular sports club (circa 42,000 active fans who have attended at least one game in the last 10 years, possibly 100,000 who call themselfs a fan)

I need to get a message out to them as soon as possible, for as little money as possible.

How can this best be achieved?

most of the world, we don't want to see this website, it matters to them not one jot.

However, most of Sheffield, UK we do want to see.

The domain name is very young, we only registered it when we thought that the club could go out of business a few weeks ago.

We try in vain to get local media coverage, they aren't interested until the really big news comes about the club folding and ceasing to exist.

Does anyone have any tips to get this message out as quickly as possible?

The url is www.timetogoprotest.co.uk and we are trying all the tricks we can think of, such as facebook groups, twitter etc but we aren't marketers. We just love our football club!

Any guidance from any pro's out there?

Do Google adwords and bid on keywords related onto to that club or set the geographic area to only be in that city. Also, you can advertise on websites which talk about that team, also through Adwords.

If the site and the interest in the club is that niche, you should be able to optimize the site for SEO, meaning that there should be some very specific keywords that people would use to search for the club, and maybe not that many sites are optimized for it. Come up with the best focus keyword, and optimize ONE PAGE on your site for that... don't dilute your efforts by putting that exact keyword phrase on every page of the site (if it does appear on other pages of the site, make the text a link that links back to the focus page, so that the search engines will always know that that ONE page is the best result for that keyword). Put the keyword in the Title tag of the page, once in the first 100 words of text, and maybe 2 or 3 times more.
Then get everyone who shares the interest in promoting the site to try to put a link to the site somewhere on the web. You can use free article directories like Ezine to write articles about the site and the club with specific links (using your keyword in the link) that point to the site. If enough of your people do this, and get the link on their blogs, sites, social media, etc, the site will start to attract links and press on its own. Costs you nothing but time and effort (and the cost of hosting the site!).
    Good luck to you!
