I had read somewhere in this forum that paypal has stopped accepting Indian bank details for verifying a new account. Is it a fact? I had also read that a couple of months back, paypal had initiated a system through which Indian users no longer need to add credit card detail and that they can verify their account through their bank details. According to that system, 2 small amounts would be transferred to the bank and when the user confirmed those amounts, their paypal account would be verified. Is this system still working? Thanks a lot in advance for your answers.
I think its not working anymore as I saw few threads related to it here. Just do a search and you will get them.
Thanks a lot for the quick response, Shubhi. Then my only option is to opt in for a new bank account and get a new credit card. I just cannot risk my current credit card being exposed online, given the fact that it high value Platinum+. The banks also will not permit me to downgrade the same. They say that I must be mad. According to them, everyone wants to upgrade their CC for a higher credit value and I am the first person they have come across who wants to degrade to a lower value. Sigh! such is life.
Don't worry as you are not alone for this because i have already downgraded my cc from gold to silver DON.
For that you need to contact their customer care first and then give them writing request to downgrade your CC in a brach nearest your home. DON.
Yeah i also have read sometime back that they have stopped verification with bank accounts , doing by cc is the only way left.
