ive managed to achieve some success with my current website, but i have some pretty nice incoming links

im wondering if its the onsite SEO or soley the incoming links

the links probably are the major reason why im assuming

edit: if i were to start a new site from scratch...im wondering if i can get anywhere near the same success

Keep up the good work and try to get more links to your site and you will be soon on top!

Well low pr sites eg. pr 4 sites may out rank those with pr6-7 this is because they give google fresh content that it loves!!

Yes, I have some pages that rank in the top 5, even some number ones out of millions of pages and the site has a zero PR.

Yes it's possible. And don't forget that visible toolbar PR is not current, so your real PR might be higher.

yes it is possible, one of my competitors have a PR3 and ranked #1 on google for a very competitve kwd.

onsite SEO and links are important, but dont discount other factors like site age, keyword in the domain name, and DMOZ listing, from my personal experience they are very very important

Like they said it is possible PR is just one of the factors that Google use in ranking sites. It also include on site SEO and specially links. If your making a new that might take time to have almost similar good results because of the sandbox.
Good luck and keep it up ('',)
