Ok was hard to think of a title that would breifly explain my question here's the situation, a member of our forums is giving out a password to our ventrillo server, we know this because we keep changing it and only people we want to have access to the vent server have access to the forums, so someone is giving out this information and not fessing up to it. So the admins have decided the only solution is to give out unique passwords for each person but that will just stop the culprate from giving out his password and it will not actually catch him unless he's stupid. So my question is this is it possible to make a thread and say "our vent password is <gameon123> and make it so every user that has access to the forums see's a different password that way they think we are giving out a general password when really its a unique password for just that person and they dont know. I'm a newb to forum admin so sorry if this question is stupid =/
what forum software are you running? If you are running vB check out the bbCode for [you] and use a slightly different replacement - something along the lines of username plus some digit code - this might work although users might find it odd that the password contains their username.
