According to G it's not possible to do anything to someone elses site in the g index.

According to some nice seo people i know it is.

    Anyone got more details?

The only way I'm aware of to decrease popularity of another persons site is to raise yours to compete with them.

Something to do with redirects, im unsure if they said 301. I heard parts of a conversation with a unsavoury seo guy.

"There is almost nothing a competitor can do to harm your ranking or have your site removed from our index"

    note they say: ALMOST nothing

The Meta Redirect's got a lot of people a lot of angry. I'd be furious too if I were a victim.

Maybe thats what happend to my site? I went from top 5 to position 154 that I'm at now in like 2 days. I guess someone didn't like the new kid on the block. Is there any way to check if that is what really happend? Cause if that is it, than I will strike back, close all the a**ho!e$ down!

googles76, if yours is a new site, then what you are seeing is very common. Some call it the sandbox theory. I personally don't agree with most who say it is a filter of some sort.

If you really think someone is doing this to your site, start searching the results for duplicates of your pages, etc...

I just read up on it and they say that new sites get a 2-4 month probation period where they rank high and then get dropped. This fits my profile exactly so maybe I was sandboxed. It makes sense if the theory is true.
