Possible to Avoid a Dup Content Filter?

    Hi guys,

    I'm starting up a site that will sell retail products. UNfortunately the product descriptions we are provided with from the manufacturer are already all over the web word for word.

    Is is possible for me to use these same descriptions on my site and somehow avoid the duplicate content filter?

    It will most likely depend on what else is on the page. If 50% of your page is duplicate content, you will be hit with it.

    That's my take based on what I read at the SEO roundtable.

    Why don't you add some RSS feeds to make your whole page less of a duplicate.
