Possible solution to waiting an excessively long time for AdSense review

So, I would like to simply provide a suggestion to those seeking to use AdSense and have AdSense applications pending review.

Once upon a time, I decided to apply for AdSense and got past the first step. Alas, I decided not to implement the AdSense code for a few months. When I did finally decide it was the appropriate time to use AdSense, I used the magical commands "Ctrl+A", "Ctrl+C", and "Ctrl+V" to simply cut-and-paste the code into my site CMS. So, according to Google, the next thing to do was to simply wait until the Google detected the ad code and they conducted their review of my site for final approval.

The problem is that the review never happened. I would implement the AdSense code on a number of different sites, but the reviews from Google simply never happened and my application was left pending for nearly a year.

Frustrated, I went to Amazon and signed up for their program and added Amazon ads with no problems. But, I still preferred AdSense for a number of reasons. So, I went back to Google to try to figure out what was going on.

I used a feature to type in my AdSense account and Google would respond that my application was pending review and would be reviewed within a number of days or weeks, but, again, it never occurred. I then sought assistance on the AdSense forums, but to no avail since no one seemed to have read what I wrote -- that the AdSense code was correctly implemented and that the review of the site still hadn't happen despite months of waiting.

Annoyed that no one was willing to read my post and make informed comments or suggestions and the inability to get Google to review my account, I deleted the AdSense account. I then waited a few days, used a different Gmail account that I had specifically set up to handle spam for one of the sites, and re-applied to the AdSense program. Shortly thereafter, I received access to AdSense, but, like before, was told that I would need to implement the AdSense code in my site and wait for the review of my site by the AdSense team. I copied-and-pasted the code into my site and waited. Within 24 hours, I had received an answer from Google that my application had been denied because my site was offline. I was ecstatic to have finally received an answer from Google even though it had been negative.

But, knowing that my site was indeed online since I was in the admin panel tinkering around with the site layout, I resubmitted the application and the next day I was in.

Ultimately, I simply wanted to post a possible solution should you be waiting an excessively long time waiting on a review of your site without a response from the AdSense team and you are absolutely sure that the AdSense account was implemented correctly. If you faced a similar situation, it may be time to delete the account and re-submit the application.

well written thought provoking post, thanks for sharing that with us. When I first read the title I was expecting a sales pitch etc. but I stand corrected. If anyone has waited an excessive time for a second stage review e.g. 2-3 weeks then this sounds worth trying.
