So recently i have been doing SEO for this site. i was consistently gaining quality ranking in the SERPS. The site has a variety of different keywords it responds to because it offers a variety of products. 1 week ago for the key word prepaid cell phones, i was ranking 63 for that key word. then one week ago. i disappeared from the results. in the past week i listed in two directories with those anchor text links. previous to that i did not do anything for those. any reason there could be this sudden plunge? it doesnt make sense to me.
SERPS move all the time without you doing anything. What you experienced is not uncommon and it would have nothing to do with listing in two directories in the last week. FYI, once you are out of the sandbox, you do not go back in. It's an aging filer for backlinks based on when the site was first indexed. I wouldn't do anything right now. I have highly competitive keywords that go from #1 to out of the top 200 and back to #1 all the time - and with no changes whatsoever.
There has to be some reason why the SERPS frequently move around. it doesn't make sense to me that, for no apparent reason we can just jump to off the charts? Google must be doing something. if the search algorithm hasn't changed, then why would the results? Plus it really hurts business when when a site isn't responding where it should.
Google is constantly tweaking its algorithm. I've had domains for 8 years and can tell you that no ranking for a competitive term is consistent with google. The more original your content, the better. There are also many different data centers and results vary between them. All you can do is continue to get relevant backlinks, practice good SEO, and hope for the best. While no one likes to drop in SERPS, a #63 ranking wasn't likely bringing you any traffic. You really need to get into the top 20, and hopefully top 10.
If anyone of you can advice me why site i am working for seo optimisation Yahoo eats it easy and with google it goes soooo slow, that i will lose my payment soon thanks in advance.
