Sir Id put my life on the line that I could build/contract a site that outdoes (members rank etc) yours with $10,000+ initial capital! (its not really "could" and "maybes" when you have 10g+ to spend) I could get a homepage and forum made looking much better and skinned for 1k (easily) then gradually spend 4 grand on advertising and have about 17,000 members in less than a year...

Secondly, your site is cluttered and needs a redesign/ reskin... (no i dont skin forums so im not looking to contract work)

Try this dude - www.nick-davis.com (seriously)

Here are some examples of a clean skins/sites:

    Music Forums:

Although you may think the "price of your baby" matters or how much work you put into it, none of that really matters to a buyer. The only thing that matters to the buyer is how much he/she thinks they can make off the site...no question about it.

When you think about how much you think your site is worth ask yourself, "how much would it cost for someone to make the exact same site from scratch with the given amount of ACTIVE members (members visiting in say, the last 6 months, likely last 3 months)

Hope this helps and Im really not trying to piss you off...hope I didnt come off that way.

Id also like to add that obviously buying and selling is supply and demand...there is a chance (extremely small) that you get someone that wants your type of site immediately and overpays you for convenience or because that have inexhaustable capital...but as for the people on digitalpoint, sitepoint or most online forums that scenario isnt going to happen...

How I would value your forum (the simple way)

    Revenue 300-350$ monthly
325 * 10x >>>>3,250 max (would likely decrease with new owner - could be unsustainable)
value of traffic forum members and other intangibles >>>>2k max (this is the only real wild card since revenue at 10x is pretty set providing your estimate of 300-350 is accurate)

    Hence... 3-5k
