Possible Problem with the audits at Chitika

Discussion in 'Chitika' started by yirmumah, Nov 30, 2005.

Boy, if this is correct, I think there's something wrong.

    Before Audit
    2005-10-22 22525 44 clicks $28.02

    After Audit
    2005-10-22 22525 4 clicks $3.05

And there are other days that are simliar, and this has REALLY raised my alert level. Hopefully I just caught them in the middle of a number audit or something, because some of the numbers I'm seeing for my best days are being chopped to nothing. I'd like to know what "invalid" clicks are now, because the majority of my traffic is in the US, CAN and UK-- very little from China and India.

Wow... I'm really hoping the numbers change here when the final payment comes, because something does not seem right about that at all.

Man, that sucks. On mybest day they cut my earnings by 1/2. I wonder if they count invalid the same person clicking on different ads. Example: 1 person clicks on 5 different ads, I wonder if those 5 clicks count as only 1...

Anyhoo, from my own revenue I saw a 31% cut and from my referral rev I saw a 41% cut! Then on top of that PayPal is going to take their cut too. I wish they would show us audited rev everyday instead of the unaudtied revenue, it's such a tease.

THat sucks. I just checked my october results and I got 100% audited revenue. That being said, my referral revenue was cut by 40%.

I expected to take a bit of a hit because a lot of my traffic is technology related so I get a good chunk of traffic from India and Australia.

I wonder if they audit their audits.

My October audit took away 16% of the unaudited revenue.

I agree that a daily audit is the way to go. Maybe just they should only show audited revenue daily.

About 50% was cut from my revenues in the audit.

There must be more to it than clicks from china and the like, I don't have _that_ many visitors from the countries that was originally mentioned.

    I agree.

I wonder if only clicks from the USA are allowed for now since they only have USA merchants. Maybe it will improve when the UK ads start showing as well.

I lost under a bit over 10% again.

With regards to Aussie traffic - it's not audited - I know that for a fact.

India on the other hand - I'm not so sure about.

With the new alternate ads option to chitika, it's possible to see from your log who requests the alternative.

    So far I've seen:

    Poland
    Chile
    Norway
    Thailand
    Italy
    Venezuela
    Lithuania
    Estonia
    Turkey
    Israel
    Romania
    Syria
    India
    Switzerland
    Austria
    South Africa
    Oman

Especially Norway and Switzerland was a surprise to me, I figured they went under western european.

I was hit by 25% for my October audit... I do believe Chitika should audit on a daily bases before they post their final figures... less work for them at the end of the month... but mostly, no big let down or surprises for publishers.

(And please all month figures on one page with final total at the bottom would be nice too)

How long before payment via paypal is due... anyone? thanks

That explains a lot. I guess it's safe to assume that countries requesting alternate ads get their clicks filtered out as well (from before)? Maybe we could build on this list and then cross check with our traffic log - see if it makes sense with the audited revenue.

    Brilliant list blinxdk! :D

Yep, I had already made my mind pre-audit that I was done w/ chitika - but this put another nail in the casket for me. Audit killed about 30% - I just wish I hadn't had to wait nearly 2 months to find out.

I lost 25% of my October earning. It is a little bit better than adsense by $10 difference

I'd tried to filter unsupported traffic to make eMiniMalls invisible to them. I wonder does this help

How much of your regular revenue did you lose though Jen?

I didn't lose any, but the sites I use Chitika on are mainly targeted to the United States.
