Hi, I'm not sure where to post this so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong forum. I've just received news that my site was mentioned on a popular TV programme this evening & already I'm doing slightly better with Adsense than I usually would be. If this is due to the fact that my site received a free plug there would be no referrals as people would be typing in the url directly. Would it be worth mentioning it to Adsense? TIA, Julia.
Yes, don't hesitate. I find the adsense crew friendly and efficient. There's no harm in telling them this stuff, plus you are covering yourself againt anything untoward. Jay
Thanks for your reply. My clicks are continuing to rise, my homepage is receiving a lot of clicks. I have reported this to Google. I guess my concern is kind of singling myself out with Google. But the stats are so differnet to any other day I felt I had no other option to to inform them of what's happened. I'm loving this, but I know it's going to be short lived. Same thing happened a few months ago (but I didn't have Adsense then), and the visitors dropped off after a day or so. Shame about that.
The influx of traffic may be short lived, but the benefits are permanent, such as backlinks, return visitors, etc. Building steady, daily traffic is like building a snowball, ever flake helps.
Yes, definitely. I just remembered this TV show also has a magazine so hopefully they will mention my site in their magazine too. Free publicity like this is fantastic. I'm having a great day with Adsense but am glad I reported what's happened to Google, it would have stuck out like a sore thumb had I not told them what's happened. ETA: Jay, I see you're in Australia. The site was mentioned on Better Homes & Gardens. Dr Harry recommended it
