Possible FTP problem with ISP

    I hope this is the right place to ask this --

    I have a very irritating problem with FTP'ing, in which uploads and downloads will sometimes freeze and then never complete, thus holding up my work until they time out.

    I used to think this was related to my system, but I just chnaged computers from an iBook to a Samsung PC and the problem continues.

    I have had this occasional freezeup problem on TextWrangler on my iBook and on DZSoft software on my Samsung PC.

    I have told BOTH companies about it, and they both suggested that the problem may be with my ISP.

    Before I write my ISP again to explain the problem, can anyone shed any light on this so I'll know how to explain it to them in a way that might actually get them to fix this?

    The problem is solved. It turns out I had too many files in the directory -- about 1,500, in fact. I'm going to get it down to about 500, seems to work better then.
