Positioning of columns

I'm new to both CSS and HTML but I'm trying to work out the css for redesigning my blog. However, I've accidentaly moved my right sidebar menu downwards, so it starts at just below where the main content text ends.

I first thought I had accidentaly added a clear: both command somewhere, but couldn't find one. Ive also tried adjusting the top margin of the sidebar, without any effect.

    What am I doing wrong?

Not providing a link or the complete markup so we can see anything.

    post the css code please

make sure the 2 columns don't equal the width of the wrapper around them, and remember to check the margins and padding on them

You copied this from Doug Bowman but from one of his pages? This is a xml page but has at least one error in it. You are also missing script tags and I'm wondering why this works at all. How are you viewing this? What browser? Do you have a link to the original?
