    Hi all,

This is my 3rd year in university.I'm studying international relations. This year i have been choosen as an exchange student for Porto ISCAP university/Portugal.
(erasmus : student exchange progamme between EU member and candidate countries' universities)
I will go to Porto at September 2006 and will stay here for 5-6 months.

I've got several questions in my mind :confused

    Some of them:

    Which places should I visit?
Which is the best brand of wine i should taste? :)
How is the transportation? (in Portugal and in Europe between countries)
How is food culture? (I dont like sea foods and i dont want to starve there :( )

    And about accomodation and expenses:

A contact from ISCAP university has found single room with WC+kitchen near university for me ,price is 150 euro monthly. Is it expensive?

How much does the life cost for a foreigner monthly?

Also post online resource in English if its avaible.

    I've seen "Emperor"s web site : http://www.discoveringportugal.net - its useful , thanks him here ;)

I'm waiting for opinions and advices of Portuguese friends.

    Thanks all in advance.

I'm not Portuguese and not in Portugal but can answer a couple of your questions and put some others into perspective for you.

    1. Transportation in Europe between countries:

http://www.easyjet.com - book early and on fly on days other than Fri-Dat-Sun and it's dirt cheap to fly between any 2 European cities.

    2. E150 a month is cheap for a room. At least compared to my E550 a month for a student shithole in London.

I don’t think you’ll have that much problems here especially because nearly all youngsters speak English. Porto is a nice city with a lot of tradition that has many things to offer.

I forgot to mention, stay off the main street coffee shops. I hear that they are quite expensive.
