Hi, I am planning to develop a Portal Website basically for community purpose and I need some help in how to design it. I do not know much of web based programming, but I know what I want from the website. How should i be proceeding here? do we need to include a database here ? it would need to include a registration of users and also forums. Any help would be greatly appreciated and also if there are any good Portal Templates that would be a great help. TIA Rob

As you have said you don't know much about Web Programming, i wish you have to think about hiring some freelancer one or more depends on ur budget. You will get many freelancer walking around this board. All of them are having great skills. The costing depends on the time needed to complete the job and the efficiency of the Programmer. Because a Good programmer will finish the job faster than a new Programmer. If you are thinking about Portal You need a Portal management system which is backed by Database. So you need database expert also. First of all let us know what are the functionality you are expecting from Portal System. We can talk more about it then.
