Portal Site SEO

    Hi there
    I have new a customer with four associated businesses, each with it's own website. They also have a single page site with links to these.
    - Is this sort of "portal" page bad for SEO? If no, what is the best way to handle this sort of site? - should it have nofollow or should each site have it's own page?

    I was cagey about it and thought I would get advice as to make more of it or nofollow it. In fact I suggested they consolidate all businesses into one site but they didn't want that.
