Someone has visited my site and doesn't want to leave apparently, Every few hours for the past couple days I been getting spam to my sites email. It's a long list of porn links.. and sometimes just regular movie downloads. They're sending it through my contact form.

How to stop this annoying shit?

Get a better spam filtering system, or take the contact form off, or if you think it is a bot, have a box they need to fill in.

Had to do a hack to joomla to add a captcha form. Funny there's no decent captcha addon for joomla. anyway we'll see if that works

Dont do a captcha, most can get through those...do a simple question like what color is the sky? answer would be blue. Or ask what is this sites name and just make sure the answer has the .com and without the .com on it. In my experience it works 100% better...

How do you figure? Bots can be programmed to give the answer, so if it is one question it can easily happen once the owner puts the solution into the program, it can keep spamming.

I think they are not doing it manually. It very likely they have some kind of bot search for some particular contact form and then send the message in autopilot.
So it is better you find some kind of captcha cause I don't think email filter would work.

There is only one way left. If you can't really prevent people from spamming your contact id with porn links, why not watch it when you are having free time? ;)

They can, but the bot would have to be programmed specifically for the script he'd be using. And chances are lower that the bot recognizes the script to find the "answer". Image captchas work all basically the same, and therefore can be bypassed easier.

Great idea, I bet jkrish41 is banging his head against the wall, wondering why he didn't think of that.

Well I shoulda said a list of 10-15 different questions with answers. I have a mod set up on my forum that used to get 200 spam bots signing up every day and now since I added that, i have gotten about 2 and when I do I change the questions and I havent had any in about 2 months now. (I had the regular captcha set up before this and it didnt work at all.)
    This is just my experience
