Updated my blog a few minutes ago. Found a very profitable domain name to use. www. porn-search-engine.com is unregistered. For more info check my blog.

    Be quick. Wont last long.

I'd rather go for branding like Pornozzle.com. Nobody wants to actually type that stuff in for daily searches and the url doesnt help that much for search engines to even worry about.

Too long and two hyphens...not something to get exited about in my opinion.

The site wouldnt be something to brand. It would basically be a landing page where you can direct users elsewhere and get paid. Who cares if you get return users. A thousand people a day in this industry is worth some money.

I agree though its not a good domain name for branding. But it is a good domain name for making money and thats what I am about.

Yeah but I can rank any other domain the same as one would with this ugly domain so whats the difference? You might as well get some return visitors then none at all.

I just dont see it. From my experience hyphens dont mean crap. A domain name with hyphens is brandable (ive done a few) and the end user doesnt really care.

I have never heard of an end user not going to a site or returning to a site because it had hyphens in it. It may not look pretty to the "webmaster" eye but the end user doesnt care and neither does the search engines and thats what matters. What the webmasters think isnt relevant.

Also the "value" of a domain is only something if you plan on selling it. It has nothing to do with using it.

    Long live hyphens! :)

Somebody thought your idea was good. The domain is taken. I was going to register just to see if I could get it to rank.

I am starting a new site, www.stock-trading-online.org and am seeing how I can get it to rank. I don't think users will type in a domain with hyphens, but if they bookmark the site, it doesn't matter if there are hyphens or not.

As a user, I don't type in domains other then the obvious ones. If I want anything I go to google. If you rank there, you will get return visitors, since they will search for the same thing if they need it again.

It doesnt take the user to type in the hyphens. They are treated as spaces.

I don't understand what you are saying. Google treats them as spaces?

Yes "i-like-hyphens" is the same as "i like hyphens" to a search engine.

Huh, I actually get different results for

    porn search engine
    vs.
    porn_search_engine

Anyway, I thought it was an okay name. Would have been good to run a sphider search engine with your own ads on the side.

Okay, hyphens in a domain is excellent for keywords for your domain.
Hunt for search terms, get a new domain for the keywords that pop up that people search for.
If there is searching for "web sites african", the http://www web-sites-african . com wouold be excellent.

Your first post sounded like if you were giving the domain itself the value, which it hasn't.
But if you think that it has ranking potential then that is a different story... however, since that market is over saturated, even if you have the keywords in the domain getting ranked for porn terms would be a very hard task...

I see what you mean now. All was explained if you clicked on my blog. The keywords have hardly any competition and therfor it would be easy to rank with this domain. Even in the porn industry.
