No pop-ups are not allowed but Im confused on who is serving the pop-up - from your question it sounds like you own the adult site and the site with the Adsense

Is the Adsense also in the pop-up? If so then it wouldnt be allowed.

I am not 100% sure but feel free to PM the link and I'll give you my opinion.

Yeah, that's against the TOS, guy. I mean, um, you even posted the exact line where it says that.

"Pages showing Google ads may never be loaded in an unrequested pop-up.

You still have questions after reading that?

I think it is against their TOS. You better avoid it. Very risky, indeed. ;)

"I have an adult site which has a popup to one of my site which has adsense in it"

So it's a pop-up and a new window. It must skew his impressions and CTR like mad. All those free impressions that only gets closed a second later...

    LOL. I know, semantics.

Anyways, I would also be careful about popping up the page from your adult site, Firestorm. That is a very huge potential problem for you. You might want to email Google and toss them a "hypothetical" question about it. I'm almost 100% sure they'll say "No, you can't do that". Don't risk losing your Adsense.

Does your site come when user clicks on the link or button or something?
means, does it depend on some user action, if it is so, then its fine with TOS.

buit if it pops up automatically, then it is against TOS.
Plus advertising on an adult site is also not recommended as google considers it as "Bad neighbourhood".

I agree, IMHO I think you should contact the Adsense team and ask them. I’ve done it before and it doesn’t take that long to get an answer back. ;)

hm, the other question is: If Adsense kills pages that are loaded in a popup (and thus violating their TOS), could this behaviour not be exploited by malicious concurrents who wish for a page to loose its advertising partner and thus their money line?

I mean: All I'd have to do to kick some competitors butt would be to open his/her page in a popup a few thousand times. Goes very quickly, given the right sites... The competitor has *no* means of preventing this.

Thus: Is it probable that Google actually enforces this rule strictly?

Say what? You do know what "pop ups" are, right? How exactly are you going to generate those and blame it on the website?

Hypothetically:If I have a website with lots of traffic and I choose to open DP forums(a page that displays an ad) in a popup the second someone comes to my website then according to adsense(rules) it is DP's responsibility that this is happening not "my website" sending the traffic. If I was a malicious webmaster and did not like DP I could do this to hurt DP in googles adsense eyes.

Edit: I think the example above was what Takayama was trying to say.
Edit #2: And You are right there are many haters/competitors out there using Techniques to try and get you banned. But Google usually sees right trough it.

Yeah, um, someone opening another window while keeping another window active is not considered a "pop-up". Pop-ups are pages that load without your consent when you visit another page. You opening DP in another window/tab isn't considered a "pop-up". ;)

I know what a "pop-up" is. I'm not talking about me personally opening the window but my(hypothetical) website(with javascript) doing it. Everytime a vistor "loads" one page they are bombarded with another window(they did not click to initiate) that "pops-up" my example was a DP page.
Takayama is correct any disgruntled webmaster could do this if they had enough traffic to cause problems with a legit publisher who didn't request that "pop-up."

For that matter a disgruntled webmaster/hater could just go copy your adsense code and open that in an window. That would prolly have faster results getting you kicked out of google.

I have never seen any of these things happen usually the "screw up" webmasters are not SMART enough to even think of such revenge tactics. But these things are quite possible.

There are techniques used to HURT(usually serp - like googlebowling). Your competitors could potentially use these and the Googles algorithms can only see so much with out human intervention.

Now again I say this is very unlikely but it is possible.
