Popup just before a session expires?

    Overture uses a script that shows a popup window to warn you a couple of minutes before your session is due to expire.

    Anybody know how this is done or had any experience of it?

    I dont *know* how this is done and i havent seen it done because i dont use overture but i can take a guess. There are multiple ways of doing it, the simpliest way i can think of is just a cookie with a timestamp in it then the webpage (php, perl, etc or even javascript) reads the cookie and displays a warning if its a few minutes near to the timestamp, giving you the option to re-new the cookie.

    I can think of other ways too though, it depends how complicated you want to make it.
