Popunders bad?

I am sorry if this is a repost or already discussed, but should we refrain from pounders, what impact do they have on SEO and do they really turn off visitors from coming to the website? But considering how much is arned I do not think that this is a bad idea. Maybe have it non-intrusive by limiting them only the first time and only on the index page.

Yes.. popups and popunders are bad.. just because they are so annoying, and if the user has the blocker, they probably won't get it anyhow. But they have no impact on SEO.

Well, when you o to a page with popunders do you like it? This is why I will never put them on on of my sites. I am yet to find someone who enjoys the popunder experience :D

I cant see them impacting SEO at all though

It depends on your audience. For example, I don't think much of the MySpace crowd really cares (as long as they're not too annoying, popping up every 40 seconds or something). If you have a techy audience they'll be really turned off by it.

If you want people to bookmark your site and come back its maybe best to not use pop unders.

Even when popunders are bad, they are less intrusive that just plain popups IMO

any interruption is annoying to the visitor. A lot of people complain about ads too, but you have to draw the line somewhere.
