This is another one of my ridiculous not yet a dictionary term domains . . . Being an English teacher, I often think of wierd things like this when I'm in class, and today I was asking my students what would be the greatest challenge that China would face in the next 20 years. Most of them said over population and environmental pollution. So I just thought of the word Popullution. When I came home this morning I registered the .com, .net, .org and .info just because I think it's kind of funny and I might like to do something with it. Basically pollution of the earth by to many humans. Could be alot of other things as well. My gf was wanting to use it for a music site (Pop music, pollution . . . Some kind of underground music thing I guess). I talked to a few people about it, and whenever I said the word, everybody INSTANTLY understood the meaning, so I think it's a bit catchy and might have some MEME power. I didn't really buy it as an investment, but was wondering if anyone sees any value beyond reg fee? Thanks P.S. - if any body has any excellent development ideas I'de love to hear them . . .
got this from a website "Dictionary of American Slang popullution Pollution caused by excess population. The citizens of large cities suffer from the effects of popullution. " good find. definitely above reg fee for .com
Thanks coolcode . . . A real quick google search reveals about 1,300 results (this thread is already the #1 result . . haha) So I guess I'm not REALLY the first person to think of this, but I'm the first one to register the domains. I basically make my living online, but domaining is not my strong point (at all). . . I'd love to hear some other opinions (even if you think it's below reg fee) on what this MIGHT go for. Also, who might be ideal buyers. And finally - for some wierd reason, I REALLY like this domain name. I would love some suggestions about what to do with it. The brief couple of ideas I had were: I was thinking about just trying to do a personal blog about my life here in China and/or Chinese Social/environmental issues. Developing a forum or social network for people who feel a dislike for, or alienated by densely populated big cities. Creating an info product on something like escaping the cities, rural living, homesteading, hermetism, or something like that. So would love to hear more appraisals and any development ideas people have.
