My Son has started a YT channel and is wanting to know the best ways to monetize it ? The URL: http://www.youtube.com/user/xDazzzleHD Please check it out and suggest any possible ways to make money from the channel ? Thanks
What does he plan on doing? always the same kind of videos? There's not a chance this way. He would need a popular channel first, then become a youtube partner.
He is in a very popular niche creating and editing videos and montages. What is classed as a "popular channel" ?
Popular would be first thousands of subscribers (more than 10,000 for a start) and/or hundreds of thousand views showing youtube that people are actually interested in those video montages. After the fact that he uses music probably not made by him, and images from video games which are both copyrighted would be a problem. Everything I say is based on nothing, I'm just like you.
By making videos that people enjoy watching and so they subscribe to know when he releases a new one?
The easy answer is hard work - providing original and interesting content that people will want to subscribe to without being forced to do so. It's really not easy to do.
Aside from knowing their audience, working their strengths, and being consistent in their uploading (most release videos on certain days – scheduled), popular YouTubers have the mysterious, not yet pinpointed “it†factor. I use YouTube as more of an “extension†of my blog and I’m finding it quite enjoyable. From what I’ve heard, read, and seen for myself, the most important thing one must remember when beginning a YouTube channel is to do it for fun. Publishing videos in the hopes of cashing in on the next viral video, or owning unrealistic expectations of amassing millions of subscribers and finding fame, often sets people up for failure. Don’t frustrate yourself by chasing ridiculous goals. There is plenty of frustration and stress to go around if you ever became popular, so just relax now while you can. ;-) Video blogging is a cool way expressing yourself and the journey toward finding your true voice is, as I’m currently experiencing, a personally enlightening. You become comfortable with being yourself and discover that you make more entertaining vlogs when you are being real. I’m enjoying vlogging and watching other vloggers. There are a lot of good ones out there. Tell your son to just enjoy himself and to go with the flow. He'll enjoy himself far more.
