    Heya,

    What are you selling?
I'm thinking about selling stumbleXchange, a site I created to help people exchange stumbles to promote their sites. The site was the first of it's kind, and as far as I know there is only 1 other site which provides this kind of service.

This site is only 25 days old and already has 290 members and has helped share over 6,900 stumbles! This is from promotion on DP alone! If you talk about it on other forums such as SitePoint, and WebmasterWorld etc... you could get a lot more.

Check out this thread on DP to read up on what's happened since it's launch. As you can see it's had a LOT of good response from DP members : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=211298 (2,545 views / 189 replies)

    What is it?
stumbleXchange is a site that helps webmasters perform stumble exchanges. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's where groups of webmasters stumble (sort of like digg) each others sites to get traffic from StumbleUpon.com.

Isn't This Against the StumbleUpon ToS?
This is something we were going to check into, until Anita on DP did it for us! :D

What will I get if I buy it?
When you purchase this site, you will get the following:

    • The script which is 100% coded by me
    • All rights to the script
    • The Domain : stumbleXchange.com
    • The Domain : diggXchange.com
    • The Domain : deliciousXchange.com

The fact that I'm also giving you diggXchange and deliciousXchange means that you could develop a network of these sites, which would be extremely popular!

    Explain the script to me
The best way to learn what the script does is to register and try it out yourself. I will say the following though as these you won't be able to see as the user:

    • Many types of error checking to ensure correct input of data.
    • Email sent to inactive members to remind them to be more active to get full benefit from the site.
    • Checks the specified StumbleUpon username to check it's a valid username.

    Traffic
Well it's not that amazing as it's only 25 days old but here's a screenshot of the traffic. Please note that we had a problem 2 days ago which stopped the script from working, but this has now been fixed. Also people reported that StumbleUpon wasn't working properly yesterday so these 2 problems combined lead to the decrease in traffic.

I am sure that this is only temporary however and that traffic will increase once again:

    Google Analytics

    Alexa
    [IMG]

    Referrals
Here's the top 4 referrers to our site since it's launch:

    Source............Visits........Pages/visit
    Direct.............1,244............9.19.....
    DP.................1,114.............9.97....
    blogspot.com......109............7.43....
    Google................79............10.7....

The traffic from Google is now increasing slowly as we're listed #1 for the keyphrase "Stumble Exchange", which I believe is something which will become a more popular keyphrase in the future as this is still quite a new concept.

    Spiders
    Name..............Hits.......Bandwidth...........Last visit
    Googlebot........102.........543.53 KB.........28 Jan 2007
    Inktomi Slurp......84.........663.24 KB.........28 Jan 2007
    MSNBot.............28.........228.58 KB.........28 Jan 2007
    Unknown robot.....9...........57.42 KB.........20 Jan 2007
    AskJeeves...........8...........60.31 KB.........26 Jan 2007
    EchO!.................2...........19.20 KB.........26 Jan 2007

    Revenue
Revenue is minimal as we have not put any advertisements on the site. I believe that the site could earn a good amount once ads have been placed.

Also we have a donations section which was added just over a week ago. Since then people have donated over $110! The idea behind the donations can be read on the donations page.

    Domain Details
The 3 domains, stumbleXchange.com, diggXchange.com, and deliciousXchange.com are all registered at GoDaddy so have free push. They have been registered until Jan 2008 and stumbleXchange is a private registration.

    Auction Details
    • Auction End : 5th Feb 07 at 03:00AM GMT
    • Bidding Starts at : $100
    • Min Increments : $10
    • Reserve : None
    • BIN : TBA
    • Payment : Via PayPal Only
    • Note : I reserve the right not to sell the site if I am not happy with the final bid.

    Transfer Details
The transaction will be done as follows. This is to protect me from scammers. I believe it is fair considering my good iTrader record and reputation on DP:

    • Winner notified.
    • PayPal payment will be sent.
    • Once received the files + domain will be transferred to the winner.
    • iTraders shared.

    A Final Word
I believe this site, along with diggXchange.com and deliciousXchange.com have a huge potential. If you know PHP then the script shouldn't be too hard to change to create the other 2 sites.

Please don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions!

    Good luck!!

oslocal : Currently there isn't much of an admin system in place but I could easily add one. I'll work on that later on today in fact and post on here when it's done :)

As promised here's the adminCP. I cropped the template out of the image just to give you a look at the content (to cut down on the size of the file :)):

A bid of $1,000 received via PM :)

Also as the price is getting quite high I have changed the transfer steps:

    • Winner notified.
    • PayPal payment will be sent.
    • Funds transferred from my PayPal to bank account.
    • Once received (a few working days I believe) the files + domain will be transferred to the winner.
    • iTraders shared.

Again this is to protect myself from scammers. If you have a good reputation on DP however I won't bother using the additional step of transferring into my bank before transferring the files. :)

    Heya AdwordGuru,

    1. I want to sell this site because I want to work on my other sites. I have a custom band promotion script I've been writing for the past few months and I really want to finish that. I also have many other sites I want to develop for example www.SiteToolCenter.com

    2. If you're asking me to make diggXchange.com and deliciousXchange.com for you then I would for a fee. If you mean would I make more of these sites to compete with the ones being sold then no I wouldn't. I want to work on content rich sites, rather than service sites (except for the band promotion website that is) :)

    Thanks,

    Hodge

    Hey guys,

Just to say the BIN has been set at $6,000.

Before you start saying that's way too high please read below for my reasoning. :)

Why is it so high??
There has been a lot of interest in the site via PM but quite a few of those are interested about developing the 3 domains as a network. I have set the BIN at a high price as I intend to relist this site + the other 2 domains once they have all been setup. This will make the network much more appealing to buyers and the final price higher. It also means that you won't have to worry about setting up the 2 other sites. :)

IMO the amount of interest for this network of sites will be more and therefore it will be harder to get hold of once I setup the other 2 sites. That's why I'm putting the BIN high so serious buyers can get hold of it before the interest mounts up.

The only thing is that it means you will need to develop the other sites yourself if you buy it now.

When will it be relisted if you do relist it?
I intend to develop the other 2 sites within the next week. I have already started on diggXchange.com (although it hasn't been uploaded yet)... I will make sure I PM all of those who were interested in this thread to tell you about it. :)

    Thanks,

    Hodge
