PopShops and LinkShare (encrypted ID) -- Please Help

    Hello All

Been working on a PopShops store this weekend, but having problems with the LinkShare encrypted ID. According to the FAQ at PopShops, it simple says to log into your LinkShare account, and create a link to grab the ID:

The problem is that the channel I select, the ID contains a * and/or / in the string. This is NOT alphanumeric, and adding this to my PopShop results in a "Error 400: bad site code" message when clicking on the link.

PopShops example of a valid LinkShareID is NS2Epm6ZsJo, mine looks like: A/UzuM*yBx1

Now, the weird thing is that I have 7 channels in LinkShare. Five of the channels contain a / or * or /and* within the ID. The two other accounts do not have these characters and are alphanumeric.

Am I doing something wrong here? Does anyone here have a PopShops account and knows what do to about these characters in LinkShare? Or to get a new ID?

    Thanks in advance
    hanji

I don't know, you should just contact them if that don't work.

I have channels ID that are not completely alphanumeric too, they include * too but no /. When I click on my link, I see the * in my ID become dots (.) on the merchant page.

You using PopShops too? I think I did something stupid.. and the problem might be related to the fact that I haven't joined the particular merchant program within LinkShare where the product resides. I just requested to join.. let's see if that corrects the problem... which I'm sure it will.

    Thanks for the reply!

I would have thought 'NS2Epm6ZsJo' is your affiliate id, it were mine anyway when I were using it for my own product price comparison which I developed. My Id was the same for all the merchants that I was with. Make sure you also get accepted to the merchant first or you may not get commissions for it even though your link may produce them.
