Usually pop-ups and pop-unders either affect traffic/sales in bad way because they are REALLY annoying and most people (non-computer literate ;)) think that is where all their spyware and viruses come from. I once took a poll on one of my tech sites and 73% said they thought they got spyware from a pop-up on a site they visited so...

I would not use them. Most people leave site with them.

If you are trying to get sales from your site, then adding a popup so that you can also make money from advertisers, it could actually make your site not look as professional to purchase from as they will wonder why you are also trying to earn money from popups. Is it because you are not making any money from your sales and therefore may not be around that long, sort of thing.

No, I am a beginner, so I seek advice on this subject. I don't want to make a mistake. I rather ask DP before I do anything because DP seems to be one of the greatest sites on the net for webmasters.
