Pop-ups, Can I use them on sites that contain Adsense

    I have two sites.

I want a pop-up to occur one time whenever the user enters the site (sessions). This site has adsense on it.

Now the pop-up will contain a message with a clickable link to another website, which has no pop-up, but do contain adsense adds too.

I heard that I am not allowed to have adds in the po-ups, but does that mean I can't use pop-ups at all?

    Thanks,

I never heard about not allowing popups, as far as I know, they are fine to use. However, I'd highly recommend that you don't have any popups on your pages, that is definitely a turn-away for any webpage, and will certainly "detract" visitors. If you want to direct them to another site, for a link to it somewhere obvious.

I think the TOS says that you can use them if there are no more than 5 per session.

I never liked pop-ups in the first place, I'll stick with links.

    Thanks all,

pop ups are fine with adsense. Just don't put the adsense in the pop up nor place 10 pop ups with your site that contains adsense.

The reason being is to much action an the screen could create false adsense clicks.

Web pages displaying our ads, search box, search results, or referral buttons may not be loaded by any software that can trigger pop-ups, redirect users to unwanted websites, modify browser settings, or otherwise interfere with site navigation.

    Quote:
    Site may not include:
    ...
Pop-ups, pop-unders or exit windows that interfere with site navigation, obscure Google ads, change user preferences, or are for downloads. Other types of pop-ups, pop-unders, or exit windows may be allowed, provided that they do not exceed a combined total of 5 per user session

Huh? so what about ads by paypopup, that covers the whole screen temporarly i think but i read somewhere this is fine with adsense?

Read those TOS again and if you are not satisfied, mail Google.
Don't put your ass on the risk :)
