    Hi all,

I'm trying out a new pop up that I hope will increase my conversion rate.
Does anyone here keep track or any advise (bad or good) regarding this pop-up?

I only try for a few days. And I can see there is some improvement around 20%.

I took a look at the pop-up on your Foot Patch site. What surprised me is that it is for the Dental Plans, and is not related to the Foot Patch at all. I wonder if even if it gets more clicks for the dental plans, it takes people away from the Foot Patch site.

Are these people really interested in the dental plans anyway (after all, they came for the foot relief)? If that is the case, the quality of your dental plan site visitors may not be that great, and it might be hurting the conversions on you Foot Patch site by taking visitors away from there as well.

I would make the content of the pop-up relevant to the site. For example you could use it to collect email addresses to market to later by having a pop-up that allows your visitors to enter their email address in exchange for a free foot-care report that is then sent to this address.

Popup blockers are spreading like wild fire - most new brosers have them as standard, so you are chasing a diminishing market. I bet you could increase conversions by adjusting ad position, colour, style, provider over and above what a popup will achieve.

Don't use a popup. Use a sliding javascript window instead. It will have more bang and not frustrate your visitors as much as a pop up.

http://www.dynamicdrive.com is a good place to find such a script.

Webmistress: I think that is what pearz is using already - beacuse my NoSript extension in Firefox blocked it to start with.

I always advise people against using pop ups. They are extremely annoying. When I'm looking for specific information, and I have to close a pop up window to get to it, I usually end up leaving the site.
