Pop up/Banner advertising

I have a Joke site that gets 30,000 pageviews a month. I have been looking into offering banner advertising on the site aswell as even having pop ups. Does any one know of any good companies offering banner ads or pop up adveritsing at a good price? Any one had any bad experiences with pop ups? How much should I expect to make off of a few site wide 120X60, 125x125 or even 120x600 banners?

Well it will definitely depend on if you could get accepted into the networks or not.

I can highly recommend Casale Media and Fastclick for both banner advertising and pop unders. It will however depend on your traffic etc etc.

Depending on the quality of your content, most people are willing to overlook a pop-under once every now and again, but don't overdo it!

Myself when I go to a site if there are Pop ups I usually leave soon after I block them with Adblock...

I just wanna get there and find the info I'm looking for. I don't like closing a bunch of other windows when I exit my browser..

Almost everyone (Kids) on all the Video Game & Tech Support forums I go to use Pop up blockers..

From a 120x600 banner you can make anywhere from $30 to $3 per month, depending on which network accepts you. Some pay around $1 CPM while others around $0.10 CPM

Unfortunately it's hard to get accepted on the best networks if you dont have enough traffic.

One time when I was drunk and dumped I joined a dating service from a pop up advert.

But I would be scared to use pop ups for advertizing.

I hate them. They are the real spammers. I can deal with spam in my E-mail.

But there is nothing worse then trying to do something online and getting pestered by a pop up.

I have seen some un abtrusive pop-ups on other sites. Ones that do not even look like pop-ups, just part of the site. But for the most part I aggree with most of the posts, that Pop-ups are probably a bad idea.

Pop-unders are not nearly as bad as pop-ups.

Try Fastclick. It's in my sig! Try also have good small square ads.

the good thing is you get paid a lot if you have a lot of traffic bc of the impressions.
Nobody has to even click on them....

I would stay away from pop anything. Its a wast of time since it will be blocked and it will just annoy visitors. Banners would be the best bet :) Good luck!

ok. I only had one visitor to my sites ask about he pop-unders.
I told her she could download a free blocker at download.com.

You can see if Fastclick pays with it ok or not for you.
If you don't like it you can always stop using it.

The small squares work well also.

Sorry Wentworth, for some reason Fastclicks didn't approve my site. Unfortunatly they didn't tell me why. Any other ideas on how to capitolize on 600 pageviews/300 unique visitors a day?

I would be willing to do the work of selling the banner ads myself. Anyone know of some good ways of selling banners ads directly?

    Sorry to hear that:eek:

Maybe you should try to get more hits a day...
Are you listed in Yahoo, google and MSN?
Try to get closer towards to TOP on the first search results page for the keyword of your page(s).
