Can someone please take a look at http://www.in-chains.co.uk it is run by a friend of mine and has good visitor figures but very poor sales conversion rates.

Any ideas why it converts into sales so poorly? And any ideas how to improve it?

    Thanks

    Sean

Have more POS (Point of Sale) on your website. Remember the KISS Rule and makesure your site more professional. It takes time to see results...

Thanks for that, so if the purchasing process was easier to follow you think it may get more conversions?

agree with youngworks. if your friend's main intent is to sell things, then make it look more like a site that sells things. there needs to be some product shots on the first page not 3-4 pages in.

special offers should be near the top somewhere, and on the homepage.

Design is cool, coming to sales. May be the traffic might not be the targeted one. So make sure to get the targeted traffic who love and go crazy about bikes..

I think he should introduce his business more clearly on home page

    Where's the attention grabbing headline?

Where's the benefits for the visitor?

don't forget people are always thinking "What's in it for me" and you have a very short time to let them know...

not totally keen on the layout and use of whitespace.

and where's the option for visitors to sign up for "news" and special offers..?

just a few thoughts, hope it helps.

    Beautifully designed site.

-some of the text was very small due to my screen size
-when i went into the store... it took many steps to see any product
-i would suggest for the store that if someone clicks on used bikes they will see all the bikes then they can choose something more specific from there
-deal of the day on the front page
    -or start shopping
-or even have the shopping first
