Poor Indexing of Titles

I'm working on a site where every page is indexed in Google with the same title: the URL of the site, not the title of each individual page. How do you change the HTML structure so Google indexes each page by title?

Wordpress for the blog side (I've recommended All in One SEO) and HTML for the rest.

I'm lost how you can offer SEO services.... and not have a clue that all you need to do is edit the title tag of each page.... or install the Wordpress SEO mods...

No wonder the industry is seen as snake oil salespeople...

Because I'm mainly a copywriter, not a coder, but thanks! I know how to add a Wordpress plugin, less sure about adding metatag functionality to a non-blog platform.

Ok then what about providing truth in advertising??

If you are a copy writer then shouldn't all your links read copy writer??

Also if you want to learn SEO read Aaron Walls Seobook at seobook.com

What? It's not like I'm advertising SEO HTML Expert Place.

Anyway...I'm not working the code side - they're clear across the country, so maybe it would be easy if I had the code in front of me, but thought maybe I could get an easy answer to give them here. I realize you can add title tags manually, but I was wondering about an automatic solution.

    Index by title?

Isn't that what they do anyway -- by blog post title?

Indexing is nothing more than crawling of the pages on the server and placing them into the document storage barrels

Scoring of the pages is a completely different animal....

ergo my point of not advertising oneself as an SEO when one has no clue what they speak of....

Dude, lighten up. I'm referring to how the pages show up in Google's index. Hence the use of the word.

    Chill out everyone.

I think the question is "How do you change the <title> and Meta 'description' fields in Word Press?"

I don't uses word press, but my home page has the following information in it for both.

<title>Internet Marketing Services: Search Engine Optimization SEO, Affordable Online Internet Marketing Advertising: PPC Techniques Secrets Tips Dallas Fort Worth</title>

<meta name="description" content="A leading Dallas Fort Worth Internet Marketing Services company offering affordable search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC), link building services and online advertising advise to business in the DFW Metroplex - Catanich Internet Marketing">

It should be noted that each page should have it's own unique title and description.

If I were any more chill I'd be on a surfboard in Maui.....:D

Shorten your title to 88 to 96 characters and your description tag to 24 words.....

You'll love the improvements in your rankings...if your not at the top already...
