I am not new to SEO, but am CERTAIN that MOST of the people here in this forum are light years ahead of my own abilities, so I thought I'd ask: What do you think is the best SEO strategy or strategies for helping to get new sites indexed and ranked?
Getting a new site indexed is simple. Set up a Google Webmaster Tools account. Then use an active indexed site to place a tempory link to your site on it. Your sig links will do. Getting ranked you will need solid OnPage SEO and Links (from all sources) with SEOed Anchor Text.
Anchor Text is key brooksfield. Even with your own sig in this forum, you can edit your 3 backlinks using the keywords for each site. Also consider linking to interior pages rather than the home page to develop deep links. (I'm still a newbie here, but my sig will be live soon ...)
Buying links on authoritative sites related to your niche using your keywords as the anchor text. But doing EVERYTHING consistently is essential Good thread OP
Based on my own experience with Google, I have to say article directories are my favorite tool for indexing. But like Semninja stated above, being consistent and using all the methods at your disposal is something that is very essential.
Nice poll, I had fun clicking the boxes You have covered many important strategies. I would also add link exchanges, partnerships and viral marketing (giveaways etc.) amongst others and I would remove directories...
