Poll: Which is better?

I'm just wondering what other peoples' opinions are.

I've voted for a single large site, but am fairly new to this business.

It doesn't matter weather you have one large site or a lot of small sites. What ever one generates the most pageviews wins. About the only thing to change that is the topic of the site. For example, a financial site would probably make more money than a video game site that had twice as many pageviews would.

 

The right answer would be lots of large sites j/k actually Nintendo is spot on.

 

But say you wanted to publish information on video games. Would you be better off with a single large site containing information on lots of different games? Or many smaller sites, each focusing on a single game?

I've managed to get small sites ranked in Google, but the extra time associated with maintenance is starting to add up. So I'm leaning towards to single site model with a simple content management system.

A financial site with specialties in venture capital for video games might work.

Which ever one get's the most pageviews!! I would rather have 10 'small' sites that combined get 1,000,000 pageviews a month than one big site that got 900,000 pageviews a month, unless I wanted to try selling ad space myself. Then I might want the one 900,000 pageview site.
