[poll] which forum script?

i just wanted to take a quick poll here.

whats you favorite forum script and why? [not the best, the favorite]

i know there are loads of them out there, but a poll between the more famous ones here,

my personal favorite, from a programmers perspective is SMF, ease of coding and getting around things,

Personally I would use phpBB or IPB.

I use phpBB now and it's very customizable. IPB on the other hand is great and the new 3.0.x series has some great features. Check out the Administrators Source over at my board, there's a few topics about the various forum softwares, it might be useful for you

I have used phpbb, mybb, smf, punbb and vbulletin. I am most comfortable with mybb and vbulletin.

 

Your missing MyBB out of your list!

 

My favourite is vBulletin, purely due to the fact that I have been using forums powered by vBulletin for 8 or 9 years and I'm so familiar with them. Also because the huge range of themes and plugins available for it.

 

I would use MyBB.

 

I love phpBB and have voted for that. THis is traditional as well as simple. I think a lot of forums are built in this script.

 

I like phpBB the best because mostly I create my own scripts that I use on my website. I tried doing that for forums but it just didn't have enough features. phpBB was so simple to modify and it made me feel like it was my own script.

 

vB, just because of all the hacks and updates and skins. It's unbeatable
