Everyone has different methods for doing this...but i'll give you my approach in the order you asked the questions:

    1. Submit at least one 300-400 word article per day (I do not post the original on my website). This is my preference, as I belive webmasters are more likely to pick up my articles over time rather than all at once.

    2. Include at least 2 links in your bio box to 2 different pages on your website and make sure to include anchor text for your keyword.

    3. I purchased article submitter pro and used to submit to a 75+ sites each time. If the goal of your article submission is to have your article picked up by other sites, which it should be, the article directory you are submitting to should be somewhat popular. Otherwise, you will only end up with a backlink from a PR0 page. Lately I have only been submitting to about 15-20 article sites.

    4. I do not post the same content on my site. There are stories out there of duplicate content penalties, but what concerns me more is that my article may be outranked by the articles directory (this happens frequently with ezinearticles).

    5. I make sure to submit to at least 2 article submission sites: ezinearticles and isnare. I also use isnare for distribution and the price is $2/article. Other good sites are articedashboard, articlesphere, and articlealley. These are only a few...as it would be impossible (or really time consuming) for me to list all.

    6. I find that the best place to purchase unique articles at a good price is right here on the DP forum. There are some great article writers, and if I can recommend one, it would be dirtisbetter. Michelle does an excellent job on the articles and I have found myself using her content in my own blog...as the articles are too good for submission. A word of caution though, try not to pay for the articles up front. I just made this mistake...you see I am a nice guy and decided to purchase articles from a new member on this forum and pay him upfront. He charged a little more for his articles, but I attributed to this premium to quality work. Well let me tell you, although it is posible to do quality work in this time frame, don't expect much when someone promises you 15 articles in 24 hours. These articles were absolutely atrocious and I have yet to receive a refund...as I am too frustrated to even ask for a re-write. Sorry for venting...let me get back on track.

    7. Both articles and press releases are good for incoming links, but if you have a novel idea, a well written press release can go much further. Also, you should only submit a press release when you have something to announce...telling people that you have added something to your blog or purchased a link from aviva does not count. Word of caution though, if you're going to have someone write a press release, don't be cheap. The success of a press release depends on how well it persuades the reader.

    Hope this helps!
