Looks like Lunar, Globat, Aplus and Bluehost are the ones with best feedback ? Hmm I heard that Bluehost and Aplus are good.
Still i have no idea, which one to prefer, Heard Bluehost is overselling, Aplus expensiv :S So ppl vote
- They have the most customers - Customers with a bad experience tend to be the loudest. So 0.01% of all customers have a bad experience and you have 100,000 customers that seems like a lot - They are expected to actually provide reliable service - We're not listing the dozens of hosts on digital point who disapear or provide horrible service. Along with that the thousands of others on the internet who are the same way. So to sum it up the worst providers are probably the small ones who jump ship every few months. You simply do not hear about them since they host 10-20 customers total.
It's very likely if the poll was "Which is the best shared hosting provider (based on your experience) some of the hosts being voted the worst would be voted the best. If you don't have many customers you don't have anyone upset with you. If there was a way to determine who the best large company in the world was you better believe they are going to have a ton of customers that hate them with a passion. A good example would be any one of the large US banks. I know many upset customers from all of them. I personally love of Bank of America, but I've had dozens of friends say they are horrible. The funny thing is most of my friends who hate them are the ones that don't pay their bills and had got hit with fees. Most of the complaints I receive about our company actually endup having to do with people not paying as well. Just five minutes ago I dealt with an upset customer that hadn't paid in two months and was upset because we shut his server down. Below are the results of how many times each host was mentioned today at the time of this posting. *Almost everyone was counted at least once from this thread* hostgator 15 lunarpages 2 ixwebhost / ixwebhosting 1 time 1and1 5 times aplus 2 globat 2 bluehost 2 dreamhost 16 times godaddy 122 times midphase 2 times. Why did I count? Once could argue some of the favorite hosts around here that are mentioned the most tend to score the worst in this poll. I'm the owner of hostgator, so if anyone is unhappy all you need to do is pm me, and I'm happy to do my best to help you. We host over 700,000 websites now so I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep this offer open. =)
wow. this thread is heating up. even the owner of hostgator come here. well, in my opinion, all his said is make sense. .. like InFloW said

Yep, thanks to me, coz i bumped the thread @hostgator: Gud post, am checking plans at ur site , cud i get a custom plan? (lyk an egg or smthng, rather than a hatchling ) Anyway i'll contact live support
First of all, I am happy to see that you care about your company being listed here in this poll. Indeed you are right that the most popular hosting provider would ideally get the highest score in my poll. Simply because the percentage of unhappy customers does not relate to the actual number of votes which will be shown here. However this poll will be able to give a figure which will afterwards be related to the total size of the companies. For example if Hostgator gets 1000 votes and has 7x (700,000 customers), while Bluehost have 300 votes and have 1,5x (150,000 customers) Therefore the ratio for unhappy customers for Bluehost will be much higher than the one of Hostgator, and therefore will be declared as a "more worst" host than Bluehost. im unhappy to see servage not in the list , my experience with them has been nothing short of terrible.
I m the happy custome of HostGator. All my sites in my signature hosted in hostgator. I never seen such a good uptime, speed and service in any host. So my NO1 Host is HOSTGATOR.
Servage has been the best host for me so far and i've stuck with them for more than a year now. Out of my previous 2 hosts i'd have to say that Canaca was the worst by far because almost 1/3 of the time my site didn't work and the rest of the time it was very slow. Only rarely did it run normally and at decent speed. My other host Globat (mentioned in poll) was significantly better but was still very slow. Must reflect beyond slow loading pages as my site was still available via the temporary link more than a year later.
@chopsticks servage been good to me untill i grew bigger and they suspended me for too many connections. i would never use any of the other hosting companies as they threat you as a number,i like to be threated like a person, not like a number i stick at my own www.wrzhost.com a year without problems so far, except being scammed by my hosting provider. i don't trust anyone anymore.
I am using dreamhost and am one satisfied customer. Yes they oversell, as someone above posted about the 50gb limit on 200gb plan, I think that problem will exist with every single host listed above as ALL of them oversell.
I used lunar pages and had no trouble at all. the server was down only once in three years.. Now that's awesome! well I used to own coollinks.ws and with that name and then having a myspace resource site attached to it along with 6 other domain and websites on the same server we out grew it and at almost 100 buck a year decided it was time to ove on. one thing is for sure lunarpages helped me learn the basics of c-panel and I will never use a non c-panel hosting provider.. Thanks @hostgator It was nice to see you come by and stand your ground. you guys have allot of referrals and happy customers. Your advertising campaigns are hard core and I think people should actually take lessons from companies like yours! peace,
I'd have to disagree with hostgator being a bad host. I have jsut joined them and i love them providing the cpanel, and all those features.
