My first impression of the Amazon Kindle isn't very high. I don't like it, but there is a lot of hype. How many of you out there are going to run out and buy one?

I want one, I love the idea of paper lcd.
The part I most like is the battery can last for a week, I cannot stand reading e-books on my computer and its a perfect replacement as it also has access to wikipedia!

I actually like the idea that you cnan have newspapers delivered to it before the delivery guy could possibly deliver it to you. The wiki feature is a definate plus. I don't like the fact that it's out of stock lol. They are now going on ebay for $500-$1000

I think one of the best features is that you can buy and download your books anywhere in the world, without the need of a wifi. So even while you are on the road on a long trip, you can download any book or newspaper you want without internet access.

I don't really want one. My friend wants one. To me, nothing is as good as a real book and shopping around Barnes & Nobles.

It connects to the internet using US network Sprint's EV-DO network (aka the Whispernet), an always-on connection.

EV-DO gives you free access as well.
I'm just wondering how long it will be until it is exploited to get free web access.

Good call... I am still oldschool about books and music, buy I caved and got myself an iriver. One day I might embrace the ebook, but no time soon.
