hm, i think the color is no a good choice for this project - looks at least a bit "girly" to me. maybe you should try a simple gray instead of plastic-blue (or however you call it). if you place some male icons (pictures of beer cans, fast sport cars or just the playboy logo) somewhere on this page nobody will call it gay again
Kudos to falcondriver. That's the most constructive post I've seen so far. First class Btw, someone gave me a -ve comment in my PM. This post wasn't meant to offend anyone. It's meant to collect some feedback so that I can improve on it and fetch a higher price for the sites that I'm creating. And I think my brain is trying to kill me by telling me to do too much. Target is to launch 5 sites in 5 days. Give it another 5 days to collect feedback and tweak them and I'm set to sell them. So if I offend anyone here, I'm sorry. Bothered by someone actually feeling sore because of this thread
you site is revenue sharing, but can you let me know one thing. what about those authors how officially dont have a site. How can you serve them, can you???
Yes, that have been thought of. All authors will have a friendly URL like this: http://www.allaboutmen.info/3/ I've emailed the Adsense Team and they have given the green light to allow users to apply for Adsense using the URL above. You can read the reply at the registration page: http://www.allaboutmen.info/articles/register.asp
I think it looks fairly "straight" but I must admit that it is a bit too cluttered and you can do better by having slightly better navigation. Maybe you need to ensure that the main links are always at the top or left frame and organise the rest of the data in blocks so that it makes more sense and doesn't confuse users. Also, on the Top articles page, it might pay to have a bit of teaser text under the heading to tempt users to view the full article, for example: Heading sample text from the article blah blah blah ..... read more Good luck! dfsweb
If I happened upon that site, my 1st impression would be that the target market was gay men. Sure, the light blue may be soothing, but "real men" don't like to be soothed. They want to get fired up and get that testosterone pumping! Which is why red is often used in men's magazines .
Was that you who gave me a -ve rating with a nasty comment? I hope it's not, coz I happen to think that you are a decent guy...
Remove the "guy" from left top ... Look at a man magasine ... is full of cars, womens, gadgets ... not so much "man" pictures ... Regards
Here is an interesting Law of Publishing that might help settle the question of whether the site looks 'gay' or not. The Rule goes like this: If you want to target men as your audience show a picture of a gorgeous woman on the cover. If you want to target women as your audience use a picture of a gorgeous woman on the cover. So you see the answer of is simple: Put a picture of a gorgeous woman on your site. Buzz
It's true. Works for my lingerie site...haha (I would say my customers are almost 50/50 men vs women)
Not only do the colors look a little gay but there also a little hard on the eyes. I do agree that the guy makes the site look more gay.
That site is gay...the domain is gay...this thread is gay..........the superbowl is gay..... Seriously, its not a manly site whatsoever
