He probably would and charge for it. Than come back and tell every webmaster they can not have a paid BST section. Death to paid links and death to a paid BST. Oh wait wouldnt that be the down fall to Sitepoint....Ouch. Maybe we need to keep Matt Cutts out of his one.

Yes money limits the small time competition. Even if the price would be set at $10 am sure the small timers eventually get on the game. It would put many in a position to provide quality work. And minimize the riftraft that think they have a chance to scam. I am tired of seeing people being scammed. And the ones that cry afoul and post continually about being scammed until they are banned.

On the point of the Trade part. Indeed even if it went paid. You would take the trade out and move elsewhere. So it would come down to only B/S.

    I'm with you!

And this is a fairly good Idea, really. In this way; serious and top quality sellers (mostly) will get a better chance to display there products, because we get too much spam in the BST section!

The whole beauty of the digital point lies in the fact that all features are freely accessible.

Heck you can even access member's profiles and their past posts without
logging in. Some forums require you to login even to access specific sections.

Most of the members started in the BST section without a lot of money
in their account and now possess a good reputation and lot of itrades.

Agreed there is a lot of trash in the BST section but a different re-structuring
should be thought of instead of making members pay.

DP members are world wide and while 5 or 10$ wont pay for a movie ticket
and popcorn in the US it can pay for a good meal in other countries.

Even at sitepoint members are arguing about the drop in traffic for turnkey sites and a paid section certainly wont stop scammers or trashy websites.

Everybody knows MODs at DP are overzealous in tracking scammers and
    busting them.

Perhaps a thread in the BST section should have a validity period after which
it will expire or a member cannot open another thread within 30days or so,
or the BST section should be sub-divided into turnkey or new websites.

A paid section would certainly lower DP's attraction IMHO

    Regards

I did not know this, I think the mods are to remain OUT of the business affairs of the members.

Correct, JoyGoRound, the Mods do not get involved in any transactions carried out by forum members.

It's good but it's bad that they don't enter in on deals. We need a dp consumers affair commission.. lol
