    Hi,

If you was to adding your listing to a directory and wanted to get more exposure and a higher listing, plus possible exposure on home page and stuff, what would you prefer, to get your listing higher via bidding per click or bidding for placement.

The pay per click bidding would mean your listing is shown higher than the next lowest bidder, but you only pay 1cent higher than the next lowest bidder even if you set your min bid higher than that.

The bidding per position wrks by you setting a price to pay for your position, when someone contributes more to their listing and then goes higher than yours, you can up your positions bid price to get it to No. Ranked 1 again. All bidding position listings last for 30 days only before resetting back to non-paid listings unless you deposit money for the following 30 days then you can keep your listing ranked pretty well.

I'm not planning on having a bid for positions system where the bidders bid value stays there for the life of the site. Personally I can't see how that could wrk or make a bidding directory site much money, it's a fault in the concept infact I believe. The monthly thing is not 100% better, but at least it's a bit.

Personally I prefer the pay per click system, but from an advertisers point of view I'm looking for.

I prefer PPC because I only pay for actual views to my site. In addition, it makes tracking cost per sale a bit easier.

That's what I thought, also the amount of Directories I have seen where you pay X amount per month and hardly get any traffic, if not any at all.

With bid for position, you could spend $100 expecting to stay ranked 1 and then find yourself go on 2nd page giving you less traffic and a bigger cost per click than anticipated.
