Americans, do you know, without checking, the 5 rights guaranteed to you by the First Amendment?

Civics education was greatly reduced in American public schools, because it was seen as being too "American" and not "multicultural." Now we have a generation of Americans who don't know their rights and a government that doesn't care about the people's rights.

Thanks EarlPearl, I think they are conditioned, what do you say? :)

I became interested in this after reading about the "1 for All" campaign, it seems like a great idea.

They are definitely conditioned. All rights are conditioned. Anything taken to an extreme ends up violating other rights.

The classic example of a conditioned right on freedom of speech is that you can't yell "fire" in a crowded movie theater. That could cause a stampede and people could get harmed. Its a simple description of the many cases that work their ways through the courts as various principles come into conflict with one another.

BTW: the one I missed is the right to peaceable assembly.

I had a company that made a credit-card sized plastic card with the entire Bill of Rights on it.
