Politics & Religion Forum and Moderation Bias

It seems that the "Politics & Religion" Forum has become a place where islamophobic zionists and their supporters constantly insult, villify Islam and muslims.
When anyone tries to open a thread critical of Israel and of zionists (just for the sake of letting them have a taste of their own medecine), he receives a barrage of insults from a very vocal bunch (always the same people), you get called an anti-semite, a terrorist, etc...
Eventually, you get an infraction and your thread gets closed.
It is funny how no one gets infractions when they insult muslims, call Islam an evil religion, etc..

It seems to me that the moderators on this section of DP are enforcing the following rules:
1) It is acceptable and even desirable to be extremely rude and offensive to muslims. Open as many threads as you like bashing muslims, it's ok.
2) do not dare to criticize Israel or zionists or you run the risk of receiving an infraction, getting banned, or having your thread closed.

What I am suggesting is to either:
a) not allow any thread insulting religions or a group of people
- or -
b) try to get less biased moderators than the ones that are currently running the "Politics & Religion" forum.

i have a c) suggestion you might want to consider. it's very simple to execute, doesn't cost you much time, and is educational.

Stay away from the P&R forum.

 

I agree with you. I think I only have like 1 or 2 posts in P&R forum and I have not been in any trouble so far. If you can't stay away in that forum, them minimize going there so you won't see threads and posts that might hurt your feelings.

 

And report it to who??? To the "moderators" as if something was going to get done??? Excuse me for laughing..
Besides, there are far too many anti-muslim posts for someone to waste his time reporting and achieve nothing.

The question is why are the "moderators" turning a blind eye on attacks on muslims while not tolerating any criticism of Israel and Zionists???

Not true, I got a warning for creating a thread where I expressed my liking for this website (& the thread was deleted).

 

No offence, but have you ever been the moderator or admin of a huge community like this? If you have then surely you can appreciate that it's a hard job and keeping up with everyone is intensely time-consuming. The people who help keep this place in order have other things to do as well - it's not like this is their only job ever.

The moderators here have been chosen, I assume, for their ability to discern between a troll/flamer and someone with an opinion and they do a lot of work behind the scenes that regular members never see. And, as some have already pointed out, infractions are given accordingly. Politics and religion are sensitive subjects and you're going to have to develop a thicker skin or avoid them altogether.

 

Here's a news flash for you:

This site is based in the U.S., which, like it or not, was founded on Christian ideals and beliefs. Therefore, the majority of people on such a forum will lean towards traditionally "Western" ideologies, one of which is, like it or not, a distrust of that which is foreign or unfamiliar to them.

Perhaps finding a webmaster forum based in a predominantly Muslim country would suit you better.

Or, you can put on your Big-Boy pants and deal with it.

Life's not fair, and the days of people pandering to rampant and unchecked political correctness are fast coming to an end.

I am sorry to inform that the majority of people who learn towards "Western" ideologies are not as racists and bigotted as you try to make them to be.

By the way, traditional "Western" ideologies do not include Zionism. If anything, "traditionally" Western ideologies are very anti-semitic. I guess we should be defending that, too???

You don't see me leading a crusade against all the anti-Christian posts that go on here, do you?

Why? Because I'm secure in my faith and my self-esteem.

If you want people to change their opinions about Muslims, then quit attacking people who are simply responding to events in the world that have created negative stereotypes.

Maybe your crusade should be IMPROVING the perception of Muslims across the world.

That might include taking a stand against the ones who have twisted the word of Allah to suit their sick and hateful ways.

Just my opinion, so don't get all butt-hurt over it. You can't control what other people think, and if they want to think something negative about a group, that's their prerogative.

Unfortunately, I rec'd an "infraction" for "hijacking" this already useless thread.

Guess I'll keep this case of Kleenex I was about to ship out and get back to work.

Hope the O.P. learns to learn to cope, there are worse things that can happen to one than reading perceived slights on a web forum.

 

if any mods here are christians it would be the first i had heard of it. Most simply dont care enough about politics or religion. You guys have your little playground... I dont really see a bias.
