With out going into the I HATE BUSH rants, What if: after 2006 midterm elections, Dick Cheney retires (heart problems) and drumroll please Vice president Condi Rice! What are your thoughts? they are discussing it on Foxy News right now.
What is the succession order? If the VP retires, doesn't the constitution take over? And the speaker of the house (or something) become the VP? Or would the president just appoint a new one? I dunno how that works out.
I am not a fan of Cheney but he is a competent person when it comes to achieving his goals (not necessarily the country's goal), Condi Rice is not half as competent as Cheney. The combination of Bush and Rice doesn't sound like a very capable administration.
I don't like incompetents. Cheney is not a nice person but at least he is competent. I will have no problem with Powell either but I think he will be too "honest" for this administration.
Powell...as in Colin? Howard Dean will be Bush's VP before that happens. To date, Bush has not gone outside his cabal. If Cheeney were to step aside...Rice would be the favorite.
This scenario has been talked about for some time now. It coincidentally started getting steam when Dick Morris released his Hillary v Condi book last year. hmmmm Got to love Fox.
You are AT LEAST 20 years away from a black or female president. But, a black, lesbian, republican woman for president??? Your grandkids' grandkids will be wondering when that's going to happen.
