Exposing how dumb some people are.

I lurk this section sometimes and some of you are completely nuts and others just plain stupid.

Well, depends on your interpretation of 'dumb'.

It's true that some people don't know half the things they're speaking of; But I suppose a forum is here for us to learn things. So you can point out their mistakes...

One thing I've noticed is that everyone has an opinion about everything, even the things they know little about.

I tend to reserve my opinion for subjects I do not have complete information for.

If someone asked me what's my opinion of say a certain European soccer team, I would not come out and say "they suck!" because I know very little about soccer.

But when the average Joe is asked about economics or a similar topic, everyone has an opinion. Few people have the courage to end a political post with the disclaimer "but I could be wrong."

A few of us have asked Shawn to shut down the political forums, I guess he feels they are a big part of the forum or they would have been gone by now!

    Good point.

There is nothing 'dumb' about not knowing about a particular subject. The only time I would apply the word 'dumb' is when someone isn't aware of their own lack of knowledge.

I don't even believe everything I say in here on some topics. But damn, It's fun trading jabs and it keeps me from kicking the dog.

Now we have to be all serious and stuff?

    Speaking from personal experience?

    You're lacking some information here:rolleyes:

Soccer just sucks in general. Who cares who the team is.

    Where's your disclaimer?

I'll just end this with "this is my opinion", there is no "right" or "wrong".

Right, and that one thing is venting one's opinions. That's it, period. Does anybody know of a single person whose political opinions were substantially changed by reading a forum post? I don't.

Political forums let people vent. That's about it. Other than that, even including that, they are basically useless.

I went around the neighborhood last night stealing candies from all those little trick or treaters. Pushed em to the ground, stole their bag of candy and laughed at em while they cried.

Oh sure...Mr "High and Mighty". You only push kids off bikes. I push them to the ground AND get candy out of the deal. At least I have an excuse!

I don't really have a dog and considering they bite, I wouldn't kick one.

I don't care for cats, but they are so fragile, they run usually anyway, so no need to kick them.

Blowing the horn at kids is ok I guess, but only if they drop the candy so you can pick it up. This way you avoid having to push them to the ground.
