Police protect girls forced to convert to Islam

Thank you for the answer. This is exactly my point that most people are born in a religion and they do not chose their religion consciously. While a person can be officially a Muslim, if that person drinks or dates women then that person can not be fanatic that strictly follows the religious teachings and in this case why a person who himself acts against his own religion should be interested to convert others?

What is your opinion about this as someone who lives there? Is it the cultural problems from India that is spilled over to UK and now it is mixed with elements of gang mentality in those neighborhoods?

 

I don't think the whole pressured conversions is anything to do with religious teachings or philosophy. I don't want to overstate the problem, I've never come accross it personally; just in the news.

The word gang is a little bit misleading because organised gangs don't really exist in the UK. Just imagine a poor inner city area made up of two ethnic groups, the 15-23 year olds hang out in groups on the street doing petty crime or serious crime. The groups will drink and smoke cannabis and enjoy intimidating other groups, the pressured conversions are just one form of crime/intimidation.

So its not a religious issue its a ghetto/poverty issue.

 

Thank you. This is what I was suspecting also. It is interesting that you as Sikh who is living in UK has not come across this problem personally but the bigots in this forum who do not know any Sikh, Hindu or Muslim and most likely have never been in UK are such experts on it.

 

they are open minded than muslims, and if you see how they integrated into society UK compared to muslims, its actually a big big difference... also learn math, in vancouver the sikh population is about 10-20 times larger than the muslim population, so your wrong..

whhich is true, i have many friends that this happeneed to, they just went to cofee for a guy, cuz the guy bothers them to, and then after that stalks them and harasses them after the girl rejected the guy

you obviously know nothing about muslim extremist! all of these terrorist around the world like in palestine, UK, and US (some even born in those countries), drink, smoke weed, and goto prostitutes/rape girls all the time ...but use islam as a weapon of self pride and agression...thats why most of them watch rap and listen to it...isnt it haram to use such foul language and watch girls half naked?
people adapt to reach their goals..they know if they have a full beard and dont act smooth, no girl will talk to them in the first place...they integrate into society but still keep their values..

sikhs and hindus have dont a lot to prevent violence with the muslim community, but the muslim community does little to stop violence against hindus/sikhs..prevalent althrough the world for the last 1000 years with very few exceptions

thats in a ideal world..when you get threats daily and ur family are targetted, u get scared to tell the police..
why do you think so many rape victims and abused women dont come forward...think realisticly....no one trust police protection half of the time

Are you from India by any chance? Don't you think after so many years the whole this fight among Hindus and Muslims which has it's roots after WWII and England desire to divide the country is kind of stupid? I have a very realistic picture of India because I know Indians and I have also visited the country, so don' try to tell me that Sikh and Hindus are such a nice and innocent people that are victim of Muslims. Both side are equally guilty of violence and trying to victimize each other. If Indian society is so nice to women and doesn't have it's own problems, why do police need to look at every women death at home as homicide and investigate? How many women every year are killed by their father in law, mother in law or husband so they can take their money that they bring with them after marriage?

Thanks for the links and contrary to you, I look at the links but the only link that was related to this thread was the first one which is the reprint of the same article. The other ones is about problems in the rest of the world which has got nothing to do with this thread. I did not argue that there is not "Muslim" gangs in UK or in the prisons. These type of gangs even exist in USA and Canada. If you have any information about this thread, I will be happy to look at it.

It all depends on what country they are in and if they are moderate muslims or extremist muslims. My moms best freind is muslim from syria and in her household she is the ruler lol. It all depends on whether they are extremist of moderates. Im catholic yet i dont hide away or brush off what is going on with all the sexual abuse going on in many catholic churches. There is good and bad in all faiths and beliefs. I have muslim, hindu, catholic, protestant and even atheist(jesus forgive me, just kiddin) friends and i have always respected their beliefs as they have mine. I do agree that islam in iran or places like saudi arabia is taken to an extreme and is even in the countrys constitution.

Come to think of it im glad jesus said in the bible to keep church and state seperate. He knew the problems that would be created by bringing them together

 

Islam and other Religions should focus more on quality than quantity. Come on, if you think by forcing people to become Muslims, they will spread the word, then I doubt it.

You can not talk with these people about Declaration of Independence or Constitution since in their opinion is just a useless piece of paper which is inconvenient for their hero, Bush.

 

I honestly doubt this is true. These girls are old enough to make their minds up and are free to practice any religion they want. The Daily Mail is a tabloid and basically follows the swirl of opinion. They are not a credible source at all.
