Hi, we are looking to sell a fully developed poker social networking site. This site has a brandable .com domain (.net & .org extension available with sale) registered at godaddy, professional looking layout, many features ready to go. All that is needed is the PROMOTION of the site.

    **************************************

    http://tinyurl.com/4rl9ap

    **************************************

    Reason For Selling:
No time to promote site/decreasing our site inventory

    About the Site:
The site is a social network catering to poker players both online and locally. Users can interact similar to the way they would on Myspace. Each member can create their own page, customize the layout (use myspace layout codes), browse upcoming freeroll tournaments, participate in the fully integrated vbulletin forum, and much more! There is really no limit on the possibilities of this site. Think of it as a “Myspace for Poker Players”. To our knowledge, there are not many social networking sites designed for just poker players….and the ones we have seen are nowhere close in terms of quality/design/features as the one we are selling. Therefore, this site is poised to establish itself as the leader in the poker social networking industry. Feel free to signup and create an account to test it out.

Features/Development of the Site/What it Comes With:
-Social networking software servers as the foundation for the site (software licensed will be transferred to you)
-Fully integrated vBulletin Forums (owned license transferred to you)
-Live Freeroll tournament feeds (buyer can easily edit to add their own affiliate code)
-Clickbank RSS feed displays poker related products (buyer can easily edit to add their own affiliate code)
    -Poker RSS news feeds
    -Users can use myspace layouts
-Nearly all myspace features are available on this site (user pages, groups, blogs, comments, bulletins, upload pics, & more)
-Newsletter page setup to capture email addresses (see corner peel ad – buyer will need to use their own autoresponder software/account)
-OpenAds installed and setup to rotate throughout the site in ideal locations (buyer can easily edit to add their own affiliate code/new or different ads)
-Daily link submissions to directories and social bookmarking sites for the past 3 months along with some basic on site SEO

    Current Revenue/Traffic:
Assume minimal/zero traffic/zero revenue – no real promotion has been done to gain users. Currently there are about 20 registered accounts on the site (some are test accounts and others actual people who signed up)

How you can Earn Revenue on this Site:
-Sign up and implement affiliate codes to various poker sites (already setup on the site, just add in your affiliate banners/codes into OpenAds). Poker affiliates pay some very HIGH commissions – some for the LIFE of the player! You could literally make thousands off of one player!
-Sell upgraded memberships on the site (you can set the price to whatever you want)
-Utilize the Clickbank RSS feeds to earn commission on poker related products
-Implement adbrite, adwords, etc. into the site
-Sell banner advertising spots to other websites
-Create brandable items at cafepress.com to sell to your members
-Create daily/weekly tournaments at various poker sites where you get a % of the entry fees or rakeback (please see actual poker affiliate sites for each particular pay structure available)

What kind of Skills are Needed to Run This Site?
You will need basic site management knowledge (basic html, some php knowledge would help – but not necessary, promotion techniques/knowledge, some poker knowledge would be useful – but not necessary, experience with mypace or myspace type sites, etc). The site is already built/running, so nothing really left to do but promote. Of course if you want to make changes, you will need to rely on your experience to implement any changes. I can offer some help as I did do everything on this site myself as far as modifying/implementing things into it. If I don’t know how to do something, I can point you in the right direction to find someone who can.

What Kind of Server is Needed?
In the early stages you could probably get by on shared hosting, but I don’t really recommend it. I have another social network site that started out on a shared account. It outgrew the account so fast I decided to go ahead and upgrade to a dedicated server. I recommend getting a dedicated server or atleast a VPS at minimum. Of course if you are great at promoting, I would go ahead and get the dedicated to save yourself some headaches down the road of moving from hosting account to hosting account. I can recommend a hosting company that specializes in hosting this type of site if you need one.

Is this site legal for U.S. residents, do I need anything special to run this type of site?
Yes, there is no gambling that takes place on the site, therefore you do not have to worry about any sort of gaming laws...that is what your affiliate links are for :)

How much has been spent on the site to get it to the point it is now?
$375.00 - full phpfox license with license removal
$200.00 - custom mods for site (myspace layout codes, top users page, etc)
    $160.00 - vbulletin owned license
    $150.00 - link building campaign
    $50.00 - site template
not too mention all the labor into putting this site together! as you can see, just in software and basic site development alone, nearly $1000 has already been put into this site. this site is an ABSOLUTE GOLDMINE waiting to HAPPEN! All you need to do is PROMOTE IT!

Feel free to contact me regarding any questions!

I can only say that this is a very nice site and I think it's well worth the money.

I just bought a community but if I didn't I would certainly buy this one.

When you buy this site you need to do two things and two things only!!!!

    Get dedicated hosting first ASAP.
    and two
    Get www.vbseo.com

and start adding content and you will see things will start to grow rapidly.

And if you act like a pro then go to elance.com and search for a PR specialist and let them write and distribute a press release and BOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

    Nice one my friend!

If you think that distributing a press release is going to ignite this site I suggest you are living in cloud cuckoo land....

I am a marketing consultant, my company designs graphic and web, and provide SEO. [ i also am a serious Poker player so I am fairly familiar with this particular market ]

The fact that you have put effort and time into developing the site counts for nothing if you have no edge, no first mover advantage, and literally hundreds of sites offering everything you have already...and better.

IMO you would have been better to assess which of the many services you are trying to offer is least well done in the main elsewhere...and tried to establish yourself as best in class in those fields.

The Poker market is saturated, and Poker sites are paying (ROI) almost $150 per download of their software...

The market is likely to experience a huge rationalization, and we will end up with several massive players.
I expect some aspect of 'social' networking will exist within this new condition, or there will be market leaders in the field itself.

Your idea isnt particularly a bad one...its just 9 years too late.

Now that you're trying to sell the site, are you still going to honor the referral contest that pays $500? Or were you hoping the site would be sold by then?

it is not a poker site where you play poker....it is a social networking site (like myspace) but for people who are interested in poker.

the rules of the referral contest state that the site must have atleast 1,000 members on the site before the contest ends.....the new site owner can decide whether or not to continue the contest or not....

-Contest will end on the date mentioned below as long as the following criteria is met: PokerHoss.com must have 1,000 Registered Members on the site - If the site has less than 1,000 members, the contest deadline will be extended in one month increments until the user total for the site is over 1,000 members. (site member stats can be found on the homepage)

So you started the contest, knowing it wouldn't reach 1,000 members before you hopefully sold it...?

we had no intentions of selling this site....we have other sites that are taking up more of our time due to growth....so we do not have time to promote & manage this one like it should.

the contest was worded so that we would not have less than 1000 members before the prize is to be paid out. when there are 1000 members on the site, $500 will be next to nothing to pay out due to the money this site will make. if the site does not get to 1000 members, the contest does not meet the specified requirements, therefore no money is to be paid out. but like i said, the new site owner can do whatever they want as far as a contest....it will be their site to determine what they want to do with it.

$500 is a reasonable BIN for this auction but hardly a minimum BID, it's just silly to think anyone would pay you 2k or whatever you are dreaming of for this site when it is just a site "ready to be taken online" rather than an "established site".

yes, this site is up for sale if the right price comes along....thanks for agreeing that $500 is more than a fair number to get the ball rolling on. software alone is worth nearly $1000:D

I'll tell you what, I wasn't planning on another site but if you want to make your money back on this and move on to the next project, I'll take it off your hands. You already put in $935 so far so my final bid will be for $950 to take it over. Please consider and let me know.

    Final bid: $950
