Poker site -- Not related to Internet gaming

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by Will.Spencer, Nov 9, 2004.

A buddy of mine wants to create a web site about poker. He loves poker and wants to create an informational web site all about poker. He is not interested in online gaming, although he is not opposed to it.

He would like to make money from his web site, but Google AdSense specifically disallows web sites related to gambling.

Can anyone recommend good advertising vendors for my buddy to partner with?

    Thanks!

    I won't post my affiliate URL's but here's a few.

The two biggest poker affiliate programs are:
    www.partypoker.com
    www.empirepoker.com

There's also Lucky Nugget Poker, Riverbelle Poker and The Gaming Club Poker Rooms. Sign up through www.Referback.com. The main site for all these casinos is www.bellerockgaming.com.

Also www.fortuneaffiliates.com, they have a few more. To view a really big list to go www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com

I don't think you will find gambling ads on google.com, maybe some of the other countries still have them though. There are still ads floating around in Adsense but I think that is just because they haven't been removed and the people can't edit them because then they hit the radar. I guess there will always be some anomalies.

Will, not sure if you are looking for poker related resources that aren't specifically online gambling. If so then PM me. If you are looking for online poker rooms then the ones Eyecoffee has mentioned are good choices.

The Google AdSense Program Policies state:

Luckily, it appears from the comments that Google isn't too intense about this policy. :D

Have a look at this page. http://www.compar.com/infopool/articles/news1vs11.html. It is an article about Internet gambling and has gambling related ads from Adsense.

Adwords will not accept ads from Internet Pharmacies unless the site has qualified via some unbelievable process, but it appears that they are accepting gambling ads still.
