hi i am currently looking to building poker info site and was wondering what is the general rule for banners? I am a bit of a newb with this advertising lark but i want the site to generate some sort of an income, i'm not looking to retire but a few quid a month to cover hosting would be great. I have had a look around some banner exchange sites and i seem to have found rubbish like "buy my system" etc or casino's that no one will have heard of. I want known names for my banners. I have looked at the adsense stuff but personally i dont like the look of all the ads down one side of the page.. Do i approach ppl like betfair, partypoker, etc and ask them if they want to have a banner on my site? Do i set a fixed fee per month and if so what is the going rate to have a banner on a homepage. thanks
