Hello all, thought I might start a thread on this subject: The poker world has changed a lot in the last couple of years, affiliate benefits and payouts have been weakened while the quantity of affiliates has grown. SEO for a poker site is now a VERY competitive market. That all said, even with the legal challenges the online poker world is facing: Poker is RISING in popularity. This is evidenced by India joining the market and (hopefully - fingers crossed) China and Russia soon to do the same. While I am still waiting for the government regulation I believe is necassary to make the online poker world universally seen as legitimate (and weed out the crooks), I still think there is a lot of money to be made. Lets open the discussion: What DOES work in this day and age? I think media/social network based is the future, eliminating banner farms of the past. Niches Niches Niches, I don't believe it is possible to set up a "poker review" site anymore, it's all been done a million times. If you want to succeed today, pick a segment of the poker world and focus on it, while creating unique content every day....in time, your rank should rise. That's all for now, I'd love to hear others thoughts/challenges/successes/failures! Do you own an online poker site? Are you working on one? Are you new/old to the game? Also, I am curious: Does anyone have any success running adbrite on their poker sites?
For those experienced with adbrite (I've yet to use it). I was curious, is the amount you are paid per click comparable? Other notable differences? I will be running it on a high volume poker site that is less focused on affiliate signups and more focused on high quality repeat long staying traffic.....hence adbrite. Thoughts?
