Poker Bot legality and such

I have developed a bot for online gaming, its becoming quite profitable (£200/day) and its for a niche gaming site, on a game other than poker that I am not willing to divulge. During testing I got my original accounts banned, so I have been recruiting friends to user accounts in their name (with full permssion) through proxys/vpns.

Whats the legality of this, as far as I am aware it is perfectly legal but I want to make sure.

    Cheers

You are definitely breaking the TOS of the online poker site. As far as I know however doing so is not criminally illegal. This is all assuming online gambling is legal in your country of residence.

He said other than poker, so what does a poker site TOS have to do with anything?

I was just using poker as an example because he didn't name the game. It would likely apply to all other forms of online gambling as well. Check the specific TOS of the site to confirm.

Is is almost assuredly illegal. I can't think of a gambling site that would allow your to use a bot to win money under any circumstance.

Of course the site doesn't allow it, it's against there TOS but not illegal.

Thanks for the replies guys, I know in the UK this is perfectly legal, but what about running it in other peoples names with their permission?

    Cheers

Again that definitely breaks the TOS of the site, but if you have their permission it is unlikely that using their names would be illegal. You should check the internet gambling laws in your area though to see if online gambling in any form is legal.
